Broodmares 1

To any of us, regretfully that's most of us, who have ever raised an orphan foal, the expression "blessed are the broodmares" takes on a whole new meaning.  We all know that broodmares are the backbone of a breeding operation...it's not just any mare that jogs down the pike so to speak.  The majority of females both two and four legged are perfectly able to reproduce...but should they?  I don't know about you but I've certainly met quite a few of both that made me cringe to see the results.  In light of that line of thinking I want to reassure you that we are very proud of our "girls" and they've all proven themselves physically and genetically to be worthy of being an integral part of this breeding program.  Some of these are World or Reserve World Champions or Producers, some have their ROM's, many have Grand and Res. Grand Championships and some have never felt a saddle.  Our main broodmare herd is straight line-bred "Skipper" mares but we've expanded to include exceptional mares of what we consider outcross breeding also.        We have daughters of Skipster, Skipper's King, Skip's Bid, Skip's Pilot, Spanish Fine, Johnnie Popper, Skip Sav, Skipster Shoemaker, Tender Skip, Skipsters Scoot, Skip N Honor, Skip's Brick,  Skips Ease, Spanish Pose, Skipster Spanish, Skipsters Bid, Skips Copy K Shadow, Shadow K Awesome, Count My Pockets, Blondy's Dude, Docs Bo Acres, Colonel Freckles, Freckles Playboy, Deep Fathom, Skip N Go, Doc's Prescription and Doc's Solano.        We have grandaughters of most of the above horses plus Nick W, Skipper Jr, Skipa Star, Spanish High, Skip's Reward, Skip's Count, Skip's Bartender, Skipper's Lad, Skipster's Lad, Skip's Chant, Social Skippa, Easily Smashed, Triple Chick, Sugar Bars Leo, Little Request, Go Man Go, Private Blend, Stony Bar, Zevi, Doc Bar, King Black, Jewel's Leo Bars, Tuffernhel, Magnificent Flower and Pretty Impressive.
